Academic Project
Yishun Town, Singapore
Year 4 Semester 1, National University of Singapore (NUS)

Among Others transforms an enclosed garden in Yishun into a portal that redefines our relationship with the species we call pests - rats.
Project synopsis
In this proposal, I position co-living as a fifth nature, reimagining Singapore's reserved lawns as habitats that hold the city's entanglement between cleanliness and contamination rather than denying it.
The project reframes rats as urban citizens within a self-regulating ecological loop shaped by rat behaviour, predation, planting, and drainage. The enclosed garden becomes a living theatre of shared urban survival, where human and non-human life are renegotiated rather than erased.
Highlights
